2019 Basketball Clinic

The 48th Annual IACO Basketball Clinic will be held at Wheaton North High School on Saturday, November 9.  The clinic will offer IHSA Level 1 Clinic Credit and is classroom-only based.  The clinic will start at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at noon.  Equipment vendors will be onsite starting at 7:00 a.m.  Online pre-registration will run through November 7.  The cost is $25 on-line and $30 at the door.  This year’s clinic will allow participants to choose the speaker they wish to hear, based on experience level, topic and speaker.  This year’s speakers incorporate officials with 35 basketball state final appearances, 10 IBCA Hall of Famers, 8 IHSA certified basketball clinicians and 6 current assignors.

2019 Basketball Training Class

The New Officials Basketball Class prepares the participant to officiate high school basketball games. This seven-week free course includes classroom instruction on the rules of high school basketball and appropriate IHSA officiating mechanics. Officiating philosophy for the high school game is also discussed. The course incorporates over 100 video clips and numerous review sessions of NFHS rules. This class is ideal for basketball officials with zero to four years of basketball officiating experience. Officials new to the IHSA will be able to obtain an officiating license at a reduced rate. Completion of the class will allow the participant to earn IHSA Level 1 Clinic Credit. Students must attend a minimum of five sessions to be eligible for clinic credit.

2019 Advanced Football Class

This 201 level class is geared for the experienced official. Each session will examine in depth, a specific rule, mechanic or situation. This is a discussion forum with input from all those attending. Prerequisite to participate is minimum of 5 years as an IHSA licensed official with at least 2 years working with a varsity or sophomore crew.

Class meets at Bremen High School in Midlothian
Class is free of charge.
Four sessions : Mondays July 29, Aug 5, 12, & 19

2019 Football Clinic

The Inter-Athletic Council of Officials (IACO) will be holding its 48th annual IHSA certified high school football officials clinic at Naperville North High School, 899 N. Mill St., IL 60563 on Saturday, August 10, 2018. Doors open at 7:00 AM, sessions begin at 8:00 AM. Online, pre-registration fee is $35.00 if received before 8/3/2019, registration fee received on or after 8/3/2019 or paid at the door is $45.

This year’s keynote speaker will be, George McCaskey, Chairman of the Chicago Bears.  Also speaking will be, Sam Knox, Assistant Executive Director of the IHSA.

Beginning at 7:00 AM vendors will have officiating equipment for sale, often at special clinic discount prices. Try on apparel before you buy and stock-up before the season begins.

Game Assignments: Local assignment chairs have been invited to be present.  Take this opportunity to introduce yourself to the people who do the hiring.  And remember to bring your calendar with the dates you are available to officiate.

A luncheon is included. Plus, there is a chance to win gift certificates from the vendors.

2019 Football Training Class

The Football Officials Training Class prepares the participant by covering game rules, play situations, penalty enforcement, game timing, and mechanics (positioning) through presentations and game film review. After completion of the class and earning an IHSA (Illinois State High School Association) sports officiating license, you will be given the opportunity to be assigned to officiate high school football games for the upcoming season. Officials with 1-2 years experience also find this class very advantageous and are welcome to attend.
