2013 Football Clinic
Saturday August 17th, 2013
Multi-Level Concept: The IACO Football Officials Clinic is divided into experience levels. New officials should attend the Level 1 Clinic. Experienced officials should attend the Level 2 Clinic.
Experienced Speakers: Most speakers are Certified IHSA football officials with playoff experience. Many are also Certified IHSA Football Clinicians.
Game Assignments: Local football assignment chairs have been invited to be present. Take the opportunity to introduce yourself to the people who do the hiring. And remember to bring your calendar with the dates you are available to officiate.
On-Field Experience: The best way to learn is by “doing it.” In addition to classroom sessions, Level 1 Clinic officials will spend time “on the field” officiating simulated plays and learning proper mechanics under the guidance of experienced officials.
Equipment Vendors: Beginning at 7:00 AM, Honig’s Whistle Stop, Gerry Davis Sports and The Official Call will have officiating equipment for sale… often at special clinic discount prices. Stock-up before the season begins.
Buffet Luncheon: Always a favorite at the IACO clinics! Plus it’s your chance to win gift certificates from the vendors!
Session with IHSA Rules Interpreter: A solid way to end the day. Any rules interpretation questions that have come up during the day may be asked of an IHSA Rules Interpreter at this time.
In order to better plan your day, we want to give you the agenda for tracks, speaker biographies, and the synopsis of what each speaker is going to cover:
