2015 Basketball Clinic

NOV14 Saturday, November 14th, the Inter-Athletic Council of Officials (IACO), will be hosting our annual basketball clinic at Hoffman Estates High School, which is located at 1100 W. Higgins Road, in Hoffman Estates, IL. Doors will open at 7:00 AM and the clinic starts at 8:30 AM. Pre-registration is $30 if received before November 8th and $40 after and at the door.

Online Registration and Payment Form

Attending the IACO Basketball Clinic should be a high priority for all Chicagoland IHSA basketball officials. Most of the instructors are IHSA Certified Clinicians or officials who have worked the IHSA State Finals. The IHSA has implemented some mechanics changes that will be presented at the clinic. All current rule and mechanic changes will be covered throughout the day.

The clinic will run on a 3 track system which is actually three clinics in one. Track 1 for new officials, Track 2 for 2-person mechanics, and Track 3 for 3-person mechanics. You can switch tracks throughout the day. The clinic will begin with Opening Remarks in the Cafeteria at 8:30 AM followed by a 65-minute presentation by IACO Clinic Chairman and IHSA Basketball Rules Interpreter Fred Allman. Fred will go through the rule changes, editorial changes and clarifications, points of emphasis and other information from the IHSA. There may also be some time for questions. Fred’s presentation WILL NOT satisfy the Rules Meeting requirement. YOU MUST VIEW THE ONLINE RULES MEETING TO RECEIVE CREDIT.

Continental breakfast and hot buffet luncheon are included in the registration fee. Honig’s Whistle Stop, Gerry Davis and Official’s Call will be present to sell officiating equipment from 7:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Try it on before you buy and get the latest in official’s gear only at IACO.

2015 Football Clinic

Saturday August 15th, 2015

** 2015 Location: Hinsdale Central High School **

Multi-Level Concept: The IACO Football Officials Clinic is divided into experience levels. New officials should attend the Level 1 Clinic. Experienced officials should attend the Level 2 Clinic.

Our keynote speaker will be 2014 BCS National Championship referee John O’Neill

Experienced Speakers: Most speakers are Certified IHSA football officials with playoff experience. Many are also Certified IHSA Football Clinicians.

Game Assignments: Local football assignment chairs have been invited to be present. Take the opportunity to introduce yourself to the people who do the hiring. And remember to bring your calendar with the dates you are available to officiate.

On-Field Experience: The best way to learn is by “doing it.” In addition to classroom sessions, Level 1 Clinic officials will spend time “on the field” learning proper mechanics under the guidance of experienced officials.

Equipment Vendors: Beginning at 7:00 AM, Honig’s Whistle Stop, Gerry Davis Sports and The Official Call will have officiating equipment for sale… often at special clinic discount prices. Stock-up before the season begins.

Buffet Luncheon: Always a favorite at the IACO clinics! Plus it’s your chance to win gift certificates from the vendors!

Session with IHSA Rules Interpreter: A solid way to end the day. Any rules interpretation questions that have come up during the day may be asked of an IHSA Rules Interpreter at this time.

Online registration is now closed. Please plan to register at the door.
